• Objectives of the Exhibit
Fragments is the sixth annual show in which this trio of artists collaborate,
this time to create art inspired directly from found objects. The show
explores two dimensional to three dimensional and back to two dimensional
interpretations of those objects, first as 2D drawings, then as 3D sculpture,
and finally again interpreted as 2D paintings, with only the first interpretation
actually working from the found object while the others work from the
first and second interpretations respectively.
Sculptor Warren Arnold, and painters Jocelyn Audette and Hanya Popova
Parker will show their depictions of fragments from the coastal shore,
drawing inspiration from the same objects collected on beach walks and
expressing their observations, each in a different form and dimension
— sculpture, drawings and paintings. While their diverse experiences
and personalities influence their approaches to the form, media and the
theme, it is the collaborative aspects that underlie the exhibit and give
it a unique, dynamic energy.
